These days, everyone seems to be talking a lot about living healthier lifestyles. With tons of new information about what we should and shouldn't eat, what exercises we absolutely need to be doing, and the influx of fad diets right at our fingertips everyday, it can be easy to become overwhelmed with it all.

If you're reading this, odds are you have a serious interest in your health and that of your loved ones. But you're probably also a normal person with a job, family, and ever-mounting responsibilities. All of these things make it extremely hard to maintain peak physical health and keep your diet constantly on the straight and narrow.

Sometimes, instead of long workout videos and recipes for delicious but complicated healthy meals, all you need is a few options for healthier living that don't take tons of time, money, or effort.

Luckily, we have your back when it comes to that. Scientifically proven to be effective and extremely easy, here are three steps you can take everyday to be a little healthier. Tired, annoyed, and as hungry as ever, these tasks almost can't get any simpler.

1. Take The Stairs

Everyone knows that exercise is one of the main keys to being healthy. Countless studies have shown that those who exercise daily live longer and reduce their risk for excessive weight gain and health related diseases and illnesses.

You may not have the time or energy to make it into the gym every day of the week but doing something as simple as taking the stairs instead of the elevator can make a huge difference.

At work, while running errands, and even at your apartment, try skipping the easy route and get your heart pumping a little by climbing the stairs.

If your trek is ridiculously high, try taking the elevator up half the way and climbing the rest. This workout may not be as intense as a few reps of lunge jumps or pushups, but it definitely beats sitting on your rear.

2. Get More Sleep

If you have kids, a demanding job, and a million things to do in a day, you definitely understand how important sleep is. Numerous studies have even found that those who get sufficient amounts of sleep every night lower their risk of things like heart attacks and diabetes.

While it may be a little difficult at first, you should make it your goal to get at least seven, if not eight, hours of sleep every single night.

If that means putting your favorite weeknight show on the DVR instead of watching it live or leaving some of that paperwork for the morning then so be it.

Not only will you feel better with more sleep but you may be less cranky, fatigued throughout the day, and find it easier to make healthier choices regarding to food and exercise as well.

3. Cook Your Own Meals

We're sure you know the dangers of constantly consuming takeout and fast food. Even when you think you're choosing the healthier options from your favorite restaurant, you run the risk of consuming all kinds of unhealthy ingredients.

The best way to ensure you're eating what you want, how you want it is to make it yourself.

Take a healthy cooking class, watch some healthy YouTube cooking tutorials, or invest in a few great cookbooks and let out your inner chef!

Cooking at home will seriously enable you to make better food choices and even save you tons of money and time in the long run.
